Charlie Garcia was ready for a career change and found the support he needed through the Guarantee Your Future with Freeport scholarship program. A former construction mechanic and father of two, he is now building a better future for himself with a degree in Automated Industrial Technology while interning at our Bagdad, Ariz. site. The Guarantee Your Future with Freeport program, in partnership with Education Forward Arizona, helps students build careers in high-demand trades like welding, process automation and heavy equipment mechanics. We’re proud to support the newly approved 50-year Conservation Benefit Agreement with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that will help recovery measures in Upper Eagle Creek to protect native fish from their principal threat--non-native fish.      This voluntary agreement helps safeguard endangered fish like spikedace, loach minnow and Gila chub as well as the threatened narrow-headed garter snake. A new fish barrier on Freeport-owned land near our operations in southeastern Arizona, will support species recovery and protect native habitats for generations to come.      Lasting conservation starts with shared commitment.    Learn more below:     https://lnkd.in/gsQPKiuU  

This summer, Freeport’s Bisbee site reopened not for mining, but for mentoring. Through hands-on science and pollinator programs, children in the Boys & Girls Club of Bisbee explored vegetation, erosion and other key aspects of mine reclamation. We are proud to encourage new generations to learn about the importance of mining responsibly. #WeAreFreeportMcMoRan #ForemostinCopper

From the peaks of Papua to the smelters of Gresik and high-rises of Jakarta, Freeport Indonesia celebrated Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day with energy, pride and purpose. Led by PTFI President-Director Tony Wenas, over 3,000 employees came together in a powerful show of unity. A 500-person dance performance lit up the day, tracing copper’s journey from mine to refinery – a symbol of PTFI’s contribution to national progress. The celebration closed on a high note, honoring employees who have dedicated 25+ years to the company – the people whose commitment has helped shape our company and support Indonesia’s growth.  We are grateful to be part of Indonesia’s journey – and its bright future. #WeAreFreeportMcMoRan #FreeportIndonesia

As our 2025 summer internship program wraps up, we’re proud to recognize the contributions of 300+ interns across 25+ disciplines – from engineering and safety to IT and environmental science.
