We are thrilled to represent the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes and the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California in this landmark lawsuit.
The Wichita and Affiliated Tribes and the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California today filed a landmark lawsuit against the United States Government arising out of an historic—and, for too long, ignored—tragedy: the United States’ creation and deployment of the Federal Indian Boarding School Program. According to the complaint, the U.S. Government used Native Nations’ own funds to finance a program of prison-like boarding schools, spread throughout the United States, designed to separate Native children from their families, and destroy their language, customs, and cultural identities. 🔗 Read more about today's landmark filing: bit.ly/4kpoYW8 ⚖️ DiCello Levitt's Adam Levitt and Daniel Schwartz are partnering with co-counsel from Selendy Gay PLLC, Fields Han Cunniff PLLC, and Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky in this critical matter. A special thanks to All Rise! for the support.

We are proud to represent a group of nonprofit hospital systems in the fight for fair competition in the health insurance market. Our latest antitrust opt-out case against Blue Cross Blue Shield challenges insurers for stifling competition and driving up healthcare costs—practices that hurt both providers and patients. A truly competitive marketplace is essential to ensuring affordable, high-quality healthcare. Read the Law360 article on the matter here.

We are honored to partner with DiCello Levitt LLP in representing the White Mountain Apache Tribe as they take a stand against the five largest social media platforms—TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and YouTube. Together, we are working to hold these companies accountable for their role in exacerbating the youth mental health crisis within their Tribal community. We were privileged to host the 2024 Tribal Sovereignty Summit at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, where Tribal leaders and legal experts came together to discuss critical litigation strategies for advancing Tribal sovereignty. Todd Hembree, former Attorney General of the Cherokee Nation, delivered an insightful keynote on tribal participation in the national opioids MDL, highlighting the importance of legal action in addressing the opioid crisis. We were also honored to have Washington Post reporters Sari Horwitz and Dana Hedgpeth share their investigative work on the legacy of Native American boarding schools. We had an incredible turnout. Thank you to our wonderful guests for participating in thoughtful and engaging discussions. We hope to see you next year!
