Highlighting Donald Hutton (Don) who brings extensive experience in highway, rail and marine transportation management. Over nearly two decades as Director of New York New Jersey Rail, LLC (NYNJR), Don oversaw all rail operations, led planning and development initiatives and drove business growth. A champion of sustainability, he spearheaded the acquisition of a series of “clean air” locomotives, advancing green initiatives for NYNJR. Don’s leadership also extended to the broader industry — he served as President of Railroads of New York and on the Board of Directors for the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association. The Federal Energy Management Program’s (FEMP’s) Summer CAMP (Courses Aligned with Mission Priorities) launched in Washington, DC, on August 4 — and Energetics was proud to support the event onsite. Designed to equip professionals with cutting-edge knowledge in energy and water management, the training brought together participants from across the country, both in person and online. A huge shoutout to Kristen Ajmo, Amanda Bassett, Mahia Qureshi and Kirstin Janocha for serving as coordinators of the Technical Planning Team. They played a central role — helping design the training program, securing session accreditations, inviting speakers and moderators, developing presentations and hosting. Their work helped make this event a success, with over 2,500 attendees taking part in this important knowledge exchange. Kathi Epping Martin is an expert in energy efficiency as it pertains to fuel cell technologies, vehicle technologies, and hydrogen-related projects. She joined Energetics’ Hydrogen and Partnership Support team with 35 years’ experience. Previous roles include president of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR)(NAVAIR) Engineering and Scientist Development Program and technology development manager for hydrogen and fuel cells within the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). She also served as co-chair of the U.S. DRIVE Fuel Cell Technical Team and as the designated federal official for the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technical Advisory Committee. A new case study published by Charge at Home by Forth featuring CLEAResult and a successful EV charging project at The Hamilton, 55+ active adult condominium community! They needed additional charging infrastructure and significant upgrades to support an expanded charging setup. CLEAResult coordinated with the project team members to install eight L2 networked charging ports, upgrade a utility transformer and convert parking spaces to allow for EV charging. From energy engineer to program manager, Chase de Leon spent nearly a decade at CLEAResult delivering high-impact energy efficiency programs for PG&E’s industrial customers. His ability to identify complex efficiency opportunities helped drive real results. Today, Chase continues to advance clean energy solutions as an industrial process heat engineer at Energetics, supporting cross-sector technology initiatives for the DOE Industrial Technologies Office. A proud University of California, Berkeley alum, Chase holds a double major in mechanical and materials science engineering, plus a minor in energy engineering. Our Data Analytics program supervisor for Energetics’ Sustainable Transportation division, Bonnie Johnson, brings nearly two decades of experience in data engineering and project management. Her move to Energetics was only a hop, skip and a jump from her previous position as senior technical program consultant for CLEAResult’s Mid-Atlantic operations. Bonnie holds a master’s in communications and information management from Massachusetts’ Bay Path University as well as database administration certification in Oracle Database and e-commerce from Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Meet Allison Weilbaker, one of our industrial energy systems equipment engineers! With over a decade of experience in military technology, wind energy and commercial aircraft, she brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. Allison holds a mechanical engineering degree from Purdue University, along with a minor in art and design and a Certificate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Her expertise spans gear design, calculation software such as KISSsoft, finite element analysis software such as ANSYS Workbench, and computer-aided design software such as Siemens NX.
