Driving innovation with purpose!
Elliot Systems, in collaboration with the IEEE Pune Section, hosted an exciting AI-deathon (A-Ideathon) at our Pune office on Friday, 4th April 2025 from 1:30-7:30pm. The theme was “Harnessing the Power of AI to Solve Challenges in India’s Unorganized Sector.”
This initiative was jointly led by our CTO & Head of India, Girish Khilari, and Achinta Das, Director at BlocksOne with invaluable support from Dr. Amar Buchade Chair IEEE Pune Section. The event aimed to inspire innovators from academia, industry, and research to apply cutting-edge technology to real-world problems.
And what an incredible event it turned out to be! Over 70 young, driven participants came together—five teams from IEEE Pune Section and three teams from Elliot Systems competed for the top spot with impressive ideas and boundless enthusiasm.
We were honored to have a distinguished panel of judges and speakers, including:
• Dr. Rajesh Ingle Vice-Chancellor, Symbiosis Skills & Professional University.
• Prof. Dr. Vijay Mane, Dean Vishwakarma Institute Of Technology.
• Dr. Jagannath Nalavade Associate Professor, MIT ADT University, Pune.
• Girish Gadage BMC Practice Head, Elliot Systems.
The event kicked off with an inspiring keynote by Mr. Achinta Das, followed by a dynamic panel discussion and presentations from each of the five ideathon teams. Every idea brought something unique to the table, and the energy in the room was electric!
There were 3 winners - 1 from industry & 2 from academia. Each of them identified a unique problem & provided an AI based solution.
The solutions were:
• A browser plug-in to detect phishing & preventing access to scam-links.
• Providing an AI powered platform for real-time agriculture produce price tracking, crop recommendations, expert consultations, and smart automation, ensuring efficient, profitable & sustainable farming.
• A low-cost, tooth-mounted biosensor that continuously tracks glucose levels in saliva and transmits real-time data to a mobile application via NFC or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
A big thank you to the entire Elliot Systems team, the judges, panelists & all the participants for making this event a grand success, especially our very own Namrata Bagh for her outstanding leadership—from concept to execution. We are proud of all the winners as well as participants.
Here’s to many more such collaborative events ahead!
