    UK’s Callosum in talks to raise $100m for architecture-neutral AI 📢🌟 Callosum, a Cambridge University spinout, is looking to raise $100 million to develop software to allow AI programmes to perform better by running on multiple processor architectures. ‘New chips and architectures are arriving from every direction, but no infrastructure has existed to bring them together,’ says #Callosum.     Lunar Outpost raises $30m for off-planet robotic workforce 📢🌟 Lunar Outpost, the U.S. space infrastructure company, has completed a $30 million Series B round of funding. Specialising in “off-planet mobility”, it is eyeing the industrial #robotic extraction of lunar resources. The capital injection will accelerate production and deployment of its robotics and mobility platforms, it says. The funding will “scale the critical industrial layer required for a permanent human presence in space”. Specifically, it will expand its fleet of spacecraft and invest further in autonomous capabilities like its #Starweave autonomous swarm software and Stargate Command, Control, and Communications (#C3) platform.     Emerson is making more plans for Nigel 📢🌟 At NiConnect in Fort Worth, Emerson announced prompt-based code generation for NI Nigel AI, its test-optimised AI technology. According to Emerson, the addition of code generation and cross-platform intelligence open up the AI technology for specialist, mission-critical users, e.g aerospace, transportation, automotive and semiconductor design engineers to develop and test products meeting strict reliability and safety requirements. Caroline Hayes met Kevin Shultz, CTO of Technology & Innovation (pictured) at Emerson’s offices in Austin, Texas.     iSpace, Inc. and University of Leicester partner for Lunar Raman Spectrometer mission 🔊✴️🇬🇧🇯🇵 #ispace is signing a Payload Service Agreement with the University of Leicester to deliver a #Raman spectrometer to the lunar surface. The aim is to analyse lunar regolith, to identify molecular compositions and possible resources. For example, high value minerals and water ice that could support future human exploration.     Open Cosmos designs eight satellites 📢🌟 Open Cosmos the European satellite builder, has come up with eight new Earth observation satellite designs to monitor climate-related disasters and environmental threats from space. The satellites are to be part of the Atlantic Constellation (#ESCA), a project managed by the AEE in collaboration with the ESA to strengthen Europe’s Earth observation capabilities. The project, backed by with €30 million, will deliver 16 state-of-the-art satellites to create a linked, coordinated constellation capable of high performance and reliability in operational Earth observation missions.     King’s Awards for Enterprise 2026 📢🌟👏 The King’s Awards for Enterprise 2026 have been announced, and Electronics Weekly studied the list of winners to discover which electronics-related organisations have been honoured this year. They were officially announced last week, on 6 May 2026, which marks the anniversary of the coronation of King Charles III. This is the annual, traditional date for announcing these awards. One of the successful companies, for example, is Blackburn-based TT Instruments (#TechPlant), pictured above. It was received a King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
