Concrete is not only structure; it is also expression. If you’ve seen our latest reviews of the campuses we’ve visited in the city, you’ve seen how we’ve shown this. And if you haven’t, we invite you to go visit. Thanks to the Brutalist movement, this can be seen in monumental works and murals integrated into architecture. When FORM brings consciousness to how we live and connect — a living community in Central America 📍
About us
Forma is a (non-profit) platform on architecture and design that sparks dialogue and awareness about how we inhabit our spaces. Our essence is built on three core values: expression, as a vehicle for authenticity and visibility; reflection, as the driver of critical thinking and responsible action; and existence, as conscious presence and commitment to community. For us, raising awareness means designing with intention, engaging in dialogue with the environment, and recognizing the symbolic, social, and functional value of space. Legacy means creating proposals that transcend aesthetics and endure through their ability to inspire, educate, and transform. From this foundation, we make four promises that guide everything we do: to expose and give visibility to relevant identities and projects; to inspire new ways of thinking and transforming; to nurture processes with coherence and intention; and to share knowledge and culture to stay relevant. Our strategic priorities—functionality, originality, and sustainability—shape the way we build content, experiences, and partnerships that strengthen the industry. We give visibility to the collective work shaping the present and future of our built environment. Through educational, corporate, and individual alliances, we work to sustain a community. With this in mind, we move forward with three clear goals: to consolidate the platform through programs, publications, and installations; to grow the community through active engagement and collaboration; and to ensure a sustainable model that preserves our values and guarantees long-term continuity. At Forma, we believe architecture and design are more than disciplines: they are our way of inhabiting life. Thanks for your support! -Jose, Daniel & Renee #daleforma @byforma_

Sober & clean! a campus that adapts to the land through easy circulation, protected walkways, and views that become part of the daily routine. And yes, it is also has a space for a museum, plus art lives in its all the corridors. What’s interesting is what could come next. This campus is designed to grow significantly according to its master plan. The question is whether it will be able to expand coherently by repeating the same architectural language, or whether it will dare to innovate and invite emerging architects with more visionary ideas. So we ask you, what would you prefer to see in the next phases: continuity or an intentional rupture? #daleforma https://lnkd.in/eYtTfM6R

If you're an artist or collector, this conversation is for you! Jimena De Tezanos de Saravia from La Galería Rebelde takes us on a journey through the art world: - how an art project starts? - what it means to be an artist? - why art matters? - how to work from art, and how rebellious you need to be to enjoy and succeed in this industry. From the university series, this time it was UFM: an architecture that does not try to impose itself, yet in its subtlety you will find many architectural details that reveal a high level of design maturity. Here, nature is what organizes the spaces, and the architecture follows a coherent language. What do you think about this university’s design? #daleforma https://lnkd.in/eiHvJMhd

Rebel Value ⚡️ In this off-format episode, we sat down with Jimena de Tezanos, founder of Galería La Rebelde, to talk about the role of art — and beyond. An honest conversation about sustaining cultural spaces, questioning the rules of the game, and understanding art not just as a luxury, but as cultural infrastructure. During our visit to USAC campus, we talked about something key: when architecture stops imposing itself and starts coexisting with the natural life around it. Here, we explore that same idea from another angle — how the built environment can integrate with the landscape, the climate, the light, the water, and natural rhythms without separating from them. It’s not about adding plants — it’s about designing with the understanding that buildings are part of an ecosystem too. What kind of relationship with nature are we designing today, and which buildings in the city do you think achieve this? #daleforma Cover photo: @studiosaxe @depth.lens Casa Q’anil photo: @caoba_doors

So… continuing our series of exploring architecture across campuses in Guatemala City. We visited Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala, also known as Ciudad Universitaria, this one is more than just a campus — it’s a statement of an architectural era. At the time, it was a bold and innovative move: modern architecture applied to public education at a large scale. Exposed concrete, clear systems, strategic shading, and spaces designed with inspiration drawn from the country’s history and values. Without a doubt, a generation of architects driven by a deeper purpose. Thinking out loud… what if the most impactful and radical moment in architecture has already passed… what should we be proposing today? #DaleForma https://lnkd.in/eYh5PppW special thanks to @docomomo_gt + @wendylissett edit: @telodicecharly

The Pritzker Architecture Prize announces Smiljan Radić Clarke, of Santiago, Chile, as the 2026 Laureate, receiving the award widely regarded as architecture’s highest international honor. Radić resists a repeatable architectural language; instead, each project is approached as a singular inquiry, grounded in first principles and informed by noncontinuous history. Context, use and anthropological awareness take precedence. Site is understood not only in physical terms, but also as a convergence of history, social practice, and political circumstance. Formando Síudad is a space to reflect on how we live in Guatemala—and on the decisions, both visible and invisible, that are shaping us. In this episode, we open the conversation with Julián Castillo—urban planner, architect, and creator of the project Síudad. Drawing from local experiences, we discuss why urban problems exist and what potential we have to change them in Guatemala. We’re not looking for closed answers, but to spark an urgent conversation: what city are we developing and how does the city we wanna live in looks like? Go listen now: https://lnkd.in/ewF7YP5h

Every time we expand without considering long term plans, the project stops being a clear idea and becomes a collage of urgencies: one extra room here, an awkward corridor there, facades that no longer remember what they were trying to say. Expanding isn’t just adding square meters—it’s deciding how much we respect the intention the design was born with, and how much we’re willing to erase just to solve things fast. The uncomfortable question is simple: are the additions and/or renovations we’re making today improving the work… or simply patching it? #daleforma
