Houston, we have a model. Over a span of 18 months, a #TeamBoeing engineer spent his personal time building a 1:42 scale LEGO replica of the International Space Station, complete with rotating solar arrays and a mobile base system that moves back and forth. This hobby gave him experience he took back to his professional role in project development, including a deeper appreciation for the work performed by mechanical systems engineers. Plus, he was invited to share this eight-foot-wide model with thousands of visitors at a NASA exhibit celebrating 25 years of continuous human presence on the ISS. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gVMQt9qB

First flight! ✈️ The first 777-9 airplane for Lufthansa flew ahead of certification testing. The airline is one of the 777X launch customers. Boeing pilots Capt. Ted Grady and Capt. Jake Miller flew a three-hour, 27-minute profile over Washington and Oregon, completing a standard flight designed to test the airplane’s systems and structures.
