🍼 NICU Awareness Month is observed every September to bring attention to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit community. Neely Tuttle, a Baptist newborn ICU nurse, is a shining example of a NICU nurse and was recently recognized by a new mom whose infant spent time in the NICU. "There are moments in the NICU that leave an imprint on you forever. For me the one I remember with the most fondness was the first time I held my daughter skin to skin. Up until then, I had been looking at her through the plastic of her isolate, touching her gently, terrified to disturb the monitors or do anything that may disrupt her delicate progress. I didn’t feel like a mom yet. I felt just like a visitor in her life. Neely changed that. She didn’t just help me hold my daughter, she helped me become her mother." —Baptist NICU Mom Neely will join other NICU staff members at the 2025 NICU Reunion at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women on Saturday, Sept. 13. Learn more about Baptist's NICU, which is a regional referral center for premature and critically ill infants born at Baptist Memorial hospitals. More than 15% of all babies born at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women are cared for in the NICU. Learn more about Baptist's NICU: https://lnkd.in/eCiayGf. #WomanCrushWednesday #WCW #thisisBaptist
