How do you collaborate and communicate with other electronic circuit designers and engineers?

I think there is a clear lack of knowledge/ context bases tools/ solutions to share within your teams for reviews and even for cross-collaboration between firmware and mechanical teams

Sharing designs across multiple teams to have close collaboration between cross functional teams like mechanical, electrical, thermal, & SI/PI analysis team is great feature which most of the EDA tools provide to users. This bridges the communication gap between the teams. Utilize cloud-based design tools (e.g., Altium 365, Autodesk Fusion 360) that allow multiple users to access, edit, & comment on designs in real time. Ensure these platforms have built-in version control to track changes & revert to previous versions if needed at any given point of time. Create a centralized repository (e.g., SVN, Teamcenter) for design files, schematics, & documentation, making it easy for team members to access & collaborate on designs.

Most of the companies that are using eCAD tools which are licensed have in built cloud for sharing, reviewing and suggesting changes in the design files. If open source eCAD are used then, create common tracking sheets in MS Teams , Google sheets. Many data management tools are also available specifically for peer reviews and file storage such as integrity by PTC windchill , Github, SAP.

Leverage simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, LTspice) to validate circuit behavior under various conditions before physical prototyping. Run different scenarios in simulations to analyze how changes in components or design affect performance. Create physical prototypes of your circuits on a breadboard or PCB to test real-world performance. The current online solutions like LTspice and PartSim tend not to be useful, as most of the current designers rely on a physical iteration that end up costing time and money.

Most of the solo designers rely on advice from people on StackExchange or Reddit for reviewing their boards whereas in larger companies, its mostly done through senior engineers through review cycles in both of the cases a human is reviewing it which might miss out on small details.

What I think is with the rise of Ai and the capabilities that it adds to this decade old industry, we should soon see advance tools that help in optimizing, reviewing and eventually even generating better circuits.
