The Secretary of State’s Organ/Tissue Donor Program’s mission is to strengthen Illinois' Organ/Tissue Donor Registry through outreach and registration initiatives. Our team organizes donor events and registry drives throughout the state to encourage people to register as donors.
The Illinois Organ/Tissue Donor Registry is mandated by Illinois law to be maintained and promoted by the Secretary of State’s office. By educating people about the importance of joining the Illinois Donor Registry, which now stands at more than 7 million people, we strive to decrease the wait for everyone who needs an organ transplant in Illinois. From community events to high school driver’s ed classrooms, our staff brings a positive message about the lifesaving benefits of organ transplants.
