Italy and IFAD share a commitment to a world where, also thanks to thriving and productive smallholders, people have access to affordable, safe, nutritious and sufficient food, decent job opportunities, knowledge and technologies.

Italy plays a key leadership role in strengthening the Fund’s financial architecture, which has enabled IFAD to augment its operations and become a platform for investments in rural transformation as the first United Nations fund to receive a credit rating (AA+) and the only development finance institution to systematically conduct impact assessments across its portfolio.
