SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan 22, 2026 — SimOps today announced its transition into a non-profit foundation, establishing a formal home for the “Simulation Operations” movement. Designed to serve as the DevOps equivalent for the HPC world, the SimOps Foundation is committed to streamlining the complex intersection of engineering simulation, data management, and high-performance computing.

The SimOps Framework

200+ Use Cases in Action The Foundation’s mission is built upon a rigorous Framework developed from over 200 real-world engineering use cases. By distilling lessons learned from both on-premises and cloud-based HPC deployments, SimOps provides a roadmap for infrastructure experts and managers to improve the scalability and efficiency of their data flows.

Standardizing the Ecosystem

To support this mission, the Foundation has introduced:

  • The SimOps Software Stack: A suite of curated, certified tools—such as HPC Gridware, NI-SP, and Simr—designed to simplify the operation of complex HPC environments.
  • Professional Certification: A comprehensive training path including SimOps Fundamentals, Practitioner, Expert, and AI for Graduates to equip the next generation of simulation engineers.
  • The Practitioner Club: A collaborative community space where certified professionals can exchange ideas and solve real-world HPC challenges in real-time.

“The massive shift toward AI-driven engineering has pushed traditional HPC workflows to their breaking point,” said Wolfgang Gentzsch, Executive Director of SimOps. “By establishing the SimOps Foundation as a non-profit, we are delivering a vendor-neutral ‘DevOps for HPC’ framework that turns manual, fragmented processes into automated, scalable operations. Our mission is to ensure that the infrastructure—whether on-prem or in the cloud—is never a bottleneck for the next generation of engineering breakthroughs.”
