Yes, MMJ patients in Nevada can have a caregiver. Patients must add caregivers to their registry account to generate a caregiver application. Your caregiver can be anyone as long as they are over the age of 18, and your physician approves of that person as a caregiver. A cardholder may only have one caregiver, and a caregiver can only be a caregiver to one cardholder. Moreover, a cardholder cannot be a caregiver to another cardholder.

If you are a patient under 18, you must have permission from your custodial parent or guardian who is in charge of your medical decisions, and that person must act as your caregiver.

Nevada will recognize medical cards from other states and jurisdictions if the following conditions are met:

  1. Those states or jurisdictions exempt users from criminal prosecution for the medical use of MM.
  2. Those states or jurisdictions require users to have seen a doctor prior to issuing the card. The card should have an expiration date that has not yet expired.
  3. The cardholder must sign an affidavit that he or she is entitled to engage in the use of MM in his or her state or jurisdiction of residence. The cardholder must agree to abide by the legal limits on the possession of MM in Nevada, which is 2 ½ ounces per 14 days.

Your appointment takes just 15 minutes, and the registration process with the state is quick. Once a completed application is submitted, a you will receive a letter of approval. This letter may be used immediately and for 60 days from its date of issuance in dispensaries for making purchases. This allows ample time for cardholders to receive their medical card in the mail, which should occur within 7 to 10 business days.

In Nevada, patients have access to a diverse range of MM products:

  • Dried flower
  • Concentrates and extracts derived from the plant
  • Edible products
  • Topicals such as lotions and salves
  • Infused products in liquid form such as tinctures

The availability of these products may vary by dispensary. Consult with your physician to determine the most suitable product and dosage for your medication

In Nevada, medical MJ cards are valid for one or two years based on patients’ preference and the recommendation of a physician.

According to the Nevada State website, at this time there are no reciprocal agreements with other states to honor Nevada MM cards. This includes states that have Medical Card programs of their own, such as Oregon and California. Because Medical Card programs vary by state, you may want to contact the state(s) you travel to for information on their laws.

During your evaluation with one of our physicians, you can expect a comprehensive review of your medical history and current condition. Our doctors will ask about your health issues, symptoms, and any previous treatments to determine if MM is a suitable option for you. This process is designed to align with guidelines for MM use in Nevada and to ensure that every patient receives personalized assistance and support.

Absolutely. Our physicians are not only here to evaluate your condition but also to offer guidance on the most suitable products for your needs. Based on your medical history, symptoms, and lifestyle, they will provide expert advice, ensuring you are well-informed about the options available.
