What are the requirements for the medical card program in Nevada?
- 18 years of age or older (minors will need to submit a birth certificate and documentation of legal guardianship)

What medical conditions qualify for NV medical card?
Per NRS 678C, you must have one or more of the follow qualifying medical conditions.
- Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
- Anorexia or Cachexia
- Anxiety Disorder
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Autoimmune Disease
- Cancer
- Dependence upon or addiction to opioids
- Glaucoma
- Medical condition related to acquired immune deficiency syndrome or the human immunodeficiency virus
- Muscle spasms, including without limitation, spasms caused by multiple sclerosis
- Nausea
- Neuropathic condition, whether or not such condition causes seizures
- Seizures, including without limitation, seizures caused by epilepsy
- Severe or chronic pain
Can I have a caregiver in Nevada?
Yes, MMJ patients in Nevada can have a caregiver. Patients must add caregivers to their registry account to generate a caregiver application. Your caregiver can be anyone as long as they are over the age of 18, and your physician approves of that person as a caregiver. A cardholder may only have one caregiver, and a caregiver can only be a caregiver to one cardholder. Moreover, a cardholder cannot be a caregiver to another cardholder.
If you are a patient under 18, you must have permission from your custodial parent or guardian who is in charge of your medical decisions, and that person must act as your caregiver.
Can I use an out-of-state medical card in Nevada?
Nevada will recognize medical cards from other states and jurisdictions if the following conditions are met:
- Those states or jurisdictions exempt users from criminal prosecution for the medical use of MM.
- Those states or jurisdictions require users to have seen a doctor prior to issuing the card. The card should have an expiration date that has not yet expired.
- The cardholder must sign an affidavit that he or she is entitled to engage in the use of MM in his or her state or jurisdiction of residence. The cardholder must agree to abide by the legal limits on the possession of MM in Nevada, which is 2 ½ ounces per 14 days.
How long will it take to get my medical card in Nevada?
Your appointment takes just 15 minutes, and the registration process with the state is quick. Once a completed application is submitted, a you will receive a letter of approval. This letter may be used immediately and for 60 days from its date of issuance in dispensaries for making purchases. This allows ample time for cardholders to receive their medical card in the mail, which should occur within 7 to 10 business days.
What types of products are available in Nevada?
In Nevada, patients have access to a diverse range of MM products:

How often do I need to renew my medical card in Nevada?
In Nevada, medical MJ cards are valid for one or two years based on patients’ preference and the recommendation of a physician.
Is my Nevada medical card valid in other states?
According to the Nevada State website, at this time there are no reciprocal agreements with other states to honor Nevada MM cards. This includes states that have Medical Card programs of their own, such as Oregon and California. Because Medical Card programs vary by state, you may want to contact the state(s) you travel to for information on their laws.
