What medical conditions qualify for an MD medical card?
Maryland is a discretionary state. That means a doctor can choose to give access for this treatment to any condition, provided that other treatments have been ineffective. In Maryland, a wide range of medical conditions may qualify a patient for medical card treatment, including:

Can I have a caregiver in Maryland?
Yes, you can have a caregiver in Maryland. Minor patients are required to have at least one caregiver assigned to their accounts at all times. Only parents or legal guardians 21 years of age and older are eligible to serve as caregivers for minor patients. Caregivers must register with the MCA prior to registering the minor patient.
Can I use an out-of-state medical card in Maryland?
According to the Maryland state website, only individuals who are registered, certified Maryland medical card patients and caregivers can purchase products under the parameters of Maryland’s Medical Card Program. However, individuals from out-of-state who are at least 21 years of age with government-issued ID will be permitted to purchase adult-use products from licensed dispensaries in Maryland beginning July 1, 2023. Interstate transport of these products is still prohibited under federal law.
