Well I think it already is, since I presume on first panel Max wished to be Duncan and then Duncan accidentally wished for the rock to just be a normal useless rock, so the rock in order exercised first turn Max into Duncan and then make the rock useless. Probably it turned Duncan into Max as not to violate the laws of physics (I know, silly to talk about laws of physics here, but bear with me) as energy can neither be destroyed or created, only transfered, so the size had to come from someone and it came from the closest source ergo Duncan.

So basically Duncan is stuck being Max, since he was a dum dum and used the rock to destroy the rock. At least my headcanon. Poor Duncan though, I suppose the motto is to use the power of suggestion wisely. If Duncan didn't treat the rock as a useless piece of crap it wouldn't bite him in the ass, similarly we should adopt a growth (hehe) mindset outselves, because we never know when we will be handed our magical reality stone.

Anyways, I am reading wayy too much into this.
