Good question! Cheris and other chomers paints themselves for a few reasons. The main reason is because body paint like this is proof that the chomer is "friendly" and is from a city or settlement. Wild chomers don't have access to colorful and durable paint. So if a person from Cheris' world encounters a chomer in the wilderness and it's not painted they should be warry. It might attack them like a wild bear in our world would!

Really like that pseudo saddle look the jacket and backpack have when she's in her quadruped form.

Thanks :D The padded "saddle" item is mostly there to keep the belts from digging into her back, but it could act as a comfortable seat if Cheris needed to carry a passenger!
