In some rain-dispersed plants of otherwise polysymmetric groups (with disymmetric gynoecium) the fruits (and the gynoecium at anthesis) are pronouncedly monosymmetric, such as
Tiarella and some Chrysosplenium species of Saxifragaceae.
For example,
Tiarella wherryi is native to the woodlands of the southeastern United States whereas Virginia bluebells thrive in Maryland floodplains and dogtooth violets (Erythronium americanum) prefer the cooler conditions beneath manzanita bushes in southern Oregon.
These farmers produce exquisite commercial varieties of flowers like Gaillardia, Lilly, Veronica, Verbena,
Tiarella, Tradescantia, Sedum, Scabiosa, Rudbeckia, Polemonium, Peony, Penstemon, and Geraniums and Indian red roses that are much sought after in domestic as well as in European markets.
Canada's Gardening Life magazine had an article on
Tiarella and Heuchera (or foamflower and coralbells).
5Better still, plant lots of ground cover plants such as ajuga reptan, hardy geraniums, hostas,
tiarella wherryi, pulmonaria saccharata and stachys byzantina.

In beds and borders, Darwins look great planted with pulmonarias, heuchera and
tiarella, hardy geraniums and sedums and vincas.
For autumn foliage color, she suggests 'Angefina' Sedum,
Tiarella and Heucheras.
Trendy plants like calla lilies, foxgloves, pink and white scented hesperis, verbascums, lavender and the foam flower,
Tiarella Ninja will keep the most avid plantsmen busy over summer.
