Explain proper procedure with photographic paper developer, stop bath, fixer, water wash and the drying of prints.

When you want your film to stop developing a "stop bath" is used to stop the developer.

This results in what is known as a "negative." A "stop bath" solution then is added to the film to stop the developing process, and finally a "fixer" solution removes the unexposed silver from the film so that the image will be insensitive to light.

It then takes 7 minutes for the film to develop, followed by 30 seconds to end the developing in a "stop bath." This is followed by 4 minutes in a "fix bath" of chemicals to preserve the image, 4 minutes to wash it off, and 30 minutes for the finished print to dry.
