Thenuwara's work is made up of the juxtaposition of objects and paronomasias these works are exhibited annually on 23 July to commemorate 'Black July 1983'.

The idea is not only evident in the poetic polysemia and multilinguistic paronomasia characteristic of the creative work of Shakespeare, Milton, and their contemporaries, but also explicitly acknowledged in such formal defenses as Sidney's Defense of Poesy and Daniel's Musophilus; in the latter, we hear of

e ad abundantiam se si considera la paronomasia Alighieri--aliger.

The pun, also called paronomasia, is a form of word play that suggests two or more meanings, by exploiting multiple meanings of words, or of similar-sounding words, for an intended humorous or rhetorical effect.

The basic terms of a discussion of this type are: eponymy and paronomasia. The cultural (anthropological) pattern is fully reflected in literature, and the research method combines philology, particularly linguistics with stylistics and hermeneutics.

We are dealing therefore with a linguistic pun (or paronomasia) whereby something is borrowed from the phenomenology of the entire set of these human experiences, without distinguishing among them which is which, in order to identify a psychopathological symptom.

Ina desolate Africa, anguished widower Silvestre Vitalicio retreats from the city to an abandoned game reserve; squatting there with his brother, bodyguard, two sons, and a jenny named Jezebel, he makes a stand in his pauper's kingdom of Jezoosalem, a name whose profane paronomasia recalls William Blake's ur-pun about "Nobodaddy, father of jealousy." This is precisely Vitalicio's punundrum: grief drives him to create a reality where he alone can rule, but unlike his own name, Silvestre Vitalicio is neither vital nor sylvan, and his auto-mythogenesis begets a bestial shadow realm of patriarchal mistrust and murderous punishment.
