The North African nation joined the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of
Outer Space in 2010 and participates in several international and regional forums for the peaceful use of
outer space.
In relevant remarks in February, Iranian Ambassador to the UN Agencies Headquartered in Vienna Kazzem Qaribabadi underlined that the
outer space was human's common heritage, reiterating that Tehran was opposed to posing limitations on developing countries which are after space technology.
The five international treaties governing activities in
outer space recognise space as common property of all and the need for international cooperation for shared benefits.
It insisted that 'there is an urgent need to address gaps in the international legal regime governing the exploration and use of
outer space with a view to ensuring that no one threatens peaceful activities and applications of space technologies for socio-economic development.'

Outer Space (PAROS) The draft treaty submitted by Russia at the Conference of Disarmament (CD) in 2008 proposed that state parties would commit to refraining from placing objects carrying any type of weapon into orbit, installing weapons on celestial bodies, and threatening to use force against objects in
outer space.

outer space (1986); the principles relevant to the use of nuclear power sources in
outer space (1992); and the declaration on international cooperation in the exploration and use of
outer space for the benefit and in the interest of all states, taking into particular account the needs of developing countries (1996).

outer space that is technically correct, logically sound, and practical to apply, and therefore has the highest probability of becoming generally accepted and ratified as international law.

Outer Space".
"While our dependence on
outer space applications is on the rise, the risk of its weaponization is also growing," Pakistan''s delegate Usman Jadoon told the General Assembly''s Disarmament and International Security Committee.
Manzlawi further said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an important member of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of
Outer Space and its two subcommittees (Scientific and Technical) and (Legal), indicating that the Kingdom represented by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology has concluded several agreements in the field of
outer space technology and its applications with a number of responsible actors in the United States of America, China, the Russian Federation, Germany and France, as well as other countries, in line with the Kingdom's policy and commitments to the United Nations' five treaties and principles on
outer space to promote the use of space technologies at the national level in several fields.
