More than 50 labour ministry officials, along with worker and employer representatives, held discussions on Thursday to determine the composition, organisation and functioning of the National Council on
Minimum Wage during its first term.

Minimum Wage Board for the industrial workers, whereas no wages are fixed for other types of workers like agriculture workers and home based workers.
The government left the matter untouched in its budget for 2018-19, against its past practice of increasing the
minimum wage each year.
ALMOST 130,000 workers in the West Midlands are earning only the
minimum wage.
