In addition to being the most likely to identify as first-time home buyers,
bisexual sellers were the most likely to identify as first-time home sellers at 50 percent.
"This study fills the gaps in the research, expands our knowledge about sexuality and gender gaps in political attitudes and contributes to new ways of thinking about the perspectives of mostly heterosexual and lesbian, gay and
bisexual people," said Worthen, associate professor in the OU College of Arts and Sciences.
"And I wondered, 'Well, it's technically true, I am
bisexual. So why is it such an embarrassing thing?
With the recent and consistent findings of high rates of poor mental health in the Western
bisexual population (Bostwick, Boyd, Hughes, & McCabe, 2010; Bostwick et al., 2007; Conron, Mimiaga, & Landers, 2010; Eisner, 2013; Hughes, Szalacha, & McNair, 2010; Jorm, Korten, Rodgers, Jacomb, & Christensen, 2002; Koh & Ross, 2006; Leonard et al., 2012; Li, Dobinson, Scheim, & Ross, 2013; Persson, Pfaus, & Ryder, 2015; Pompili et al., 2014; Steele, Ross, Dobinson, Veldhuizen, & Tinmouth, 2009), there has never before been such urgency to gain a deeper understanding of bisexuality.

bisexual men have a higher risk for heart disease compared with heterosexual men across several modifiable risk factors.
Meanwhile, there are 55,000 OAPs that class themselves as 'other' - which means respondents did not consider themselves to fit into the hetersoexual, gay, lesbian and
bisexual categories, but didn't want to refuse to label themselves at all.
The
bisexual community has tried to adapt to this difficulty in self-definition by incorporating several sub-populations into the relatively new catch-all term "bi+," which includes polyamorous, pansexual, and asexual people.
