Los grupos de lepidopteros nocturnos que en Mexico han recibido mayor atencion corresponden a Sphingidae (Leon-Cortes, 2000; Leon-Cortes et al., 2006) y Saturniidae (Balcazar- Lara & Beutelspacher, 2000a).
