Siberian forests are mainly composed of 8 conifers, 49% Larix species, 13% Pinus sylvestris, 7% Picea obovata, 6% Pinus sibirica, 2% Abies sibirica and 19% hardwood and other species.
Siberian pine (Pinus sibirica) and other dark needled conifers dominate the West Siberia, Yenisei ridge, the Altai and Sayan Mountains (Nadezda et al., 2006).
Investigation on Neodiprion sertifer (Geoff.) (Hymenoptera; Diprionidae) which has important damages in Pinus sylvestris in afforestation areas.
Preference and performance of the sawfly Diprion pini on host and non-host plants of the genus Pinus. Ent.
Signs of S.noctilio were reported in an experimental area of
Pinus in Botucatu, state of Sao Paulo, Brazil during the periodic monitoring of leaf-cutting ants in this area (Figure 2).
According to Lacerda (2003), resin production for
Pinus elliottii wood can reach 1.5 to 1.7 kg tree-1 in a period of four seasons, much higher than the
Pinus taeda, which production is less than half that amount.
The four habitats consisted of snow beds, alpine meadows,
Pinus scrub, and fell-fields (Figure 1).
In 2008, adult spittlebug feeding damage was observed in Mexican forests of
Pinus oaxacana Mirov.
Because of this inherent diversity value and their association with periodic fire,
Pinus pungens communities have been extensively studied and that research can be divided into two groups: descriptive and fire-related.
Black pine (
Pinus nigra s.l.) is the most widely distributed pine species in high-altitude areas in the Mediterranean Basin;
