We chose Red Robin
Photinia (
Photinia fraseri) as a sample for broad-leaved plants and deodar cedar (Cedrus deodara) for needle-like or scalelike-leaved plants so that we might study the relationship between the arrangement of the foliage and their ability to reduce noise (Fang & Ling, 2003, 2005; MartinezSalaa et al., 2006).
The red
photinia leaves and blue ceanothus flowers will provide interesting spring colour, while the hebe has white flowers in summer.
One green and blue striped fairy sat in a
photinia, its orange and yellow striped hat tipped at a jaunty angle.
Trees include Japanese maple, magnolia,
photinia, ginkgo, river birch, potted sago palms and vitex, and live oaks covered with resurrection fern.
Photinia x fraseri Red Robin is a great screening evergreen shrub.

Photinia is a fast-growing, noticeable plant that makes a quick privacy screen.
Many new plant records were discovered here, of note are Alpinia tamacuensis (Zingiberaceae), Dendrobium spectatissimum (Orchidaceae), and
Photinia prunifolia (Rosaceae).
Some of its preferred hosts for feeding and/or egg laying are, besides grapes, citrus, Crepe myrtle, Privet,
Photinia, Camellia, Ash, Sycamore, Magnolia, Peach, Sunflower, Hollyhock, and Malva, Sow thistle and Lambs-quarters (weeds).

Photinia red robin will not do well if it is moved at this time of year
Photinia Red Robin is a fastgrowing beauty that will bring a splash of warm red to your garden once or twice a year (depending on when it is pruned) as the young shoots come through.
A favourite of mine is the
Photinia 'Red Robin' which once it has reached the height you want, can be pruned to keep it's shape and size, it is also really effective if you keep the bottom of the stems free of branches and foliage so you just keep the canopy.
