Cannes 2026: Lukas Dhont's 'Coward' is a Riveting WWI Love Story
"Love not war." Who are the real cowards of war? Is it the soldiers? Is it the men who get too scared to fight and run away because they want to live? Or is it the generals and the captains and all the warlords dictating orders from a safe distance? Or is it the politicians sending their citizens to death? It doesn't matter who is labeled a "coward" and why – these soldiers don't deserve to go off to war and die. They deserve to live. And we should always be fighting for love not war – no matter the situation, no matter the battle being fought. I am pleased to report that the new film made by Belgian director Lukas Dhont is sensational. Coward is his third feature film so far and it's magnificent, showing us how love matters more than anything else on this planet. The film is Dhont's most ambitious creation yet, taking us into the trenches of World War I to tell a tender, heartfelt love story between two Belgian soldiers. Another enchanting film by Dhont featuring all of his earmarks – stunning cinematography, a wonderful score, and such majestic performances from the entire cast. Gay cinema reigns! I fell for this film and got swept away by its 2 hour journey into hell & back.

One Final US Trailer for D-Day Thriller 'Pressure' Feat. Andrew Scott
"Why should I trust you?" "We must face the facts – the facts – however frightening they may be!" Focus Features has debuted their second & final trailer for the World War II movie titled Pressure, arriving in US theaters to watch starting in May next week. It will open in the UK later in the year in September (some 4 months later after the US launch). The film tells the tense story of deciding to go forward with D-Day on June 6th, 1944 sending troops into Europe in Northwest France. In the final days before the planned Allied invasion of Europe in 1944, Royal Air Force meteorologist Cpt. James Stagg must deliver a weather report to the Allied high command on the feasibility of the planned D-Day. The weather needs to be just right. This war film thriller stars Brendan Fraser as Dwight D. Eisenhower, Andrew Scott as Captain James Stagg, Kerry Condon as Captain Kay Summersby, Damian Lewis as Marshall Bernard Montgomery, Chris Messina as Irving P. Krick, Henry Ashton as John Eisenhower, with Con O'Neill, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Toby Williams, and Max Croes. The last UK trailer from a few months ago is the best trailer but this one also sets the stakes and turns up the intensity. I'm still looking forward to watching – this looks damn good.
First Look Teaser for Horror 'Victorian Psycho' Starring Maika Monroe
"Can you feel it rolling around inside you – squeezing, squeezing hard." Bleecker Street has revealed their first look teaser trailer for Victorian Psycho, a kick ass horror comedy thriller from filmmaker Zachary Wigon arriving to watch in theaters this fall. The film premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival today (I saw it there - and it's fantastic!) which is why this teaser is dropping at the exact same time. An entertaining spin on American Psycho but set in Victorian times. In 1858, an eccentric young governess, Winifred Notty, arrives at the remote gothic manor Ensor House. As Winifred assimilates and begins her job, staff begin to inexplicably disappear, and the owners wonder if something is amiss with this new arrival... These strange happenings stir suspicion that Ms. Notty not what she seems. Starring Maika Monroe as Winifred Notty, along with a tremendous cast: Jason Isaacs, Thomasin McKenzie, Ruth Wilson, Evie Templeton, Jacobi Jupe, Amy De Bhrún, Paul Reid, and Katherine Moran. This film is an especially clever, dark & twisted Victorian horror comedy with a set of terrific performances that make it entirely worth watching. Keep an eye out for it haunting theaters in September later this year! Until then get a look at footage below.
Trailer for Peculiar Grief Film 'Miss You, Love You' with Allison Janney
"I am his mother!" "Well then fight like one!" HBO has unveiled the trailer for a grief film titled Miss You, Love You, an awkward dark comedy with plenty of emotional drama. This film is releasing for streaming starting at the end of May for anyone to watch on HBO Max if you're curious. Miss You, Love You is written and directed by comedy actor Jim Rash, his latest since directing Downhill a few years ago. A widow plans her husband's funeral. Her estranged son sends assistant instead of coming himself. She ends up bonding with him instead. As they fumble through grief & their strange, darkly funny circumstances, buried secrets & long-held resentments surface, but their partnership becomes an unlikely conduit for connection, laughter, healing for this mom and her new "surrogate son". Starring Allison Janney as Diane Patterson, Andrew Rannells as Jamie Simms, with Bonnie Hunt, Suzy Nakamura, Oscar Nuñez, & Lisa Schurga. This actually looks really good - plenty of heated arguments that ultimately seem necessary despite their veracity.
Full Trailer for 'Jimmy' Movie with KJ Apa as James Stewart in WWII
"Sir – don't I have the right to serve my country, just like anyone else does?" "America can't afford to lose Jimmy Stewart..." Burns & Co. has debuted the full official trailer for Jimmy, a peculiar new biopic look at the beloved actor James Stewart – aka Jimmy Stewart – and his early years as a pilot during WWII before going on to make It's a Wonderful Life (in 1946). Out in theaters in November this fall. The pitch: it's the untold story of America's most-beloved actor and the iconic role that saved him. KJ Apa stars as Jimmy Stewart in this Jimmy movie, with a cast including Max Casella as Frank Capra, Kara Killmer as Lady Julia, Julian Works, Sarah Drew, Jason Alexander as Louis B. Mayer of MGM, Rob Riggle, and Daniel Fee. An interesting cast for this indie production. "Jimmy Stewart was an American Hero. He was among a certain breed of men who understood the true meaning of sacrifice by fighting for our freedom," KJ Apa states. The story culminates in him taking on It's a Wonderful Life after the horrors of war. There's just something that feels really off about this despite being presented as another biopic. Get a closer look below.
Fun Trailer for RuPaul's 'Stop! That! Train!' Goofy Disaster Comedy
"You're in the eye of the storm!" "You're telling me it has a face?" Bleecker Street has debuted the wacky & wild official trailer for the new campy comedy called Stop! That! Train!, a flashy and fancy and freaky adventure about a train disaster. This entertaining new creation from director Adam Shankman and creator RuPaul is hitting theaters in June right in the middle of the summer. All aboard! Two train stewardess BFFs switch from a dull railway to the luxurious Glamazonian Express. During a massive storm, they must work with snooty first-class crew and President Gagwell to prevent a disaster in Cali. The train might derail and crash into Los Angeles, so they must join forces with snobby first class attendants to save the day and keep the train on the right track. Or something like that! Everything about this looks like bonkers express service LGBTQ fun & mayhem. Stop! That! Train! stars Ginger Minj and Jujubee, with Symone, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Marcia Marcia Marcia, RuPaul, also Joel McHale, Chris Parnell, Natasha Leggero, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Plus Sarah Michelle Gellar and many others. 🚂 Well, don't forget to buckle up.
First Look Featurette for Michael Sarnoski's 'The Death of Robin Hood'
"Sarnoski is one of the great voices in film today. There's a confidence in his storytelling that I was just blown away by..." A24 has debuted a quick "first look" promo featurette for The Death of Robin Hood, another re-imaginging of this classic legend of the English folk hero. "The legend was a lie," apparently he was just a killer. Grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, Robin Hood finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. Now in the hands of a mysterious woman on an island, he is offered a chance at salvation. Death of Robin Hood stars Hugh Jackman as old man Robin, with Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe. They've been launching numerous trailers for this film, including another promo trailer a few weeks ago. Does it actually look good enough to watch? Is the twist on this Robin Hood tale even that good? This seems like it's watch a watch just to find out - and I trust in Michael Sarnoski (who's also in this promo video below). Out in theaters next month - have a peek.

Watch: Boots Riley Breaks Down His Filmmaking on 'I Love Boosters'
"We need to make a movie that doesn't play on the little screen. It plays on the big screen." Panavision + neon have revealed a wonderful behind-the-scenes look at the making of Boots Riley's colorful & extra fun new film I Love Boosters. It's hitting theaters soon and looks like a must watch event. Another featurette about the cinematography choices and filmmaking style: "Writer & director Boots Riley invites us inside his mind palace to share how he made I Love Boosters: hand-drawn storyboards, miniature sets, costumes, lighting, anamorphic cinematography, & custom prototype lenses build specifically for the film." Featuring production designer Christopher Glass, cinematographer Natasha Braier ASC, and Panavision's Dan Sasaki, Boots walks through how the team transformed his ideas, textures, color. Ever since Ryan Coogler's Sinners video last year, Hollywood is obsessed with making these featurettes for every major must-see-on-the-big screen new release (the one for Project Hail Mary is also good). I love this because it embraces the colorful, zany, funky style Boots is known for. The film follows a ragtag group of shoplifters who take aim at a cutthroat fashion maven. This stars Keke Palmer, LaKeith Stanfield, Naomi Ackie, Demi Moore, Hannah Alline, Don Cheadle, Eiza González, Will Poulter, Poppy Liu, and Taylour Paige. Enjoy.
John Cena & Eric Andre in Zany Comedy 'Little Brother' Funny Trailer
"What happened to the guy I married who said the only thing matters is family...?" Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a movie called Little Brother, another ridiculously fun new comedy coming out soon to watch. From the same filmmaker behind Ingrid Goes West and the series "Angelyne" comes a story of two... brothers? A famous real estate agent's carefully curated world is upended when his eccentric "little brother" unexpectedly reappears and starts to ruin his life & everything in it. The two long-lost brothers reunite on Netflix starting June 26th. Remember to keep your family close, though maybe not too close. Little Brother stars John Cena and Eric Andre as the brothers Rudd and Marcus, along with Michelle Monaghan, Christopher Meloni, Sherry Cola, Ego Nwodim, Caleb Hearon, Ben Ahlers, Bryce Gheisar, and Pilot Bunch. This looks extra dumb but still pretty funny – especially Cena's live delivery every single time.
Cannes 2026: 'Minotaur' is a Brilliant Look at Modern World Moral Rot
Whether you like it or not, we live in perilous times. But it still seems hard to talk about this, to talk about what's broken, what's happening to humanity, what's going on all over the world, how rotten it has become. The easiest way to exist peacefully is to shut up, conform to the new rules, do what you're told, don't cause any trouble, and just stay in line. And this is what leads us even deeper into the depths of Hell. One of the best films at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival dares to tell an unflinching story about this pervasive moral rot and challenges us to observe how easy it is to lose all your humanity in order to hold on to money & power. Minotaur is the sixth feature film by acclaimed Russian filmmaker Andrey Zvyagintsev and it might be his best yet. This hit me hard and I haven't stop analyzing it, making sense of it, processing its immensity in the hours since emerging from my screening. Extraordinarily powerful, stomach churning, of-the-moment cinema featuring Tarkovsky-inspired visual intricacy in every shot. Minotaur is a brilliant film about what's happening Russia – while also a story of what's happening everywhere around the world if you look closely.
Official Trailer for 'The Match' Doc About '86 Football World Cup Game
"When does a match start? When does it end?" ⚽ Disney has revealed the official trailer for a documentary film titled The Match, an emotional look back at the iconic 1986 World Cup game. This just premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival this month playing in the Cannes Premiere section - it's rare they ever show docs at this fest meaning this is definitely worth a look. Beyond the Hand of God lies a deeper story... About the 1986 Argentina-England World Cup quarter final, exploring how it became a culmination of tensions between the two nations following the 1982 Falklands War. From directors Juan Cabral & Santiago Franco, narrated by Gary Lineker & Jorge Valdano, The Match tells the story of the iconic 1986 Football World Cup clash between Argentina & England at the Azteca Stadium. Using rare archival footage, including Maradona's controversial "Hand of God", the doc film reconstructs the match as a living memory, after more than 200 years of tension, encounters, and conflict between the two nations. Reviews say, "this entertaining exercise in deluxe nostalgia is peppered with enough quirky folklore and offbeat background detail to keep even sports-allergic viewers [...] engaged." This looks super fascinating for sports fans & history nerds alike.

Hollywood Mockumentary 'The Second Coming of John Cooper' Trailer
"Mark my words: John Cooper will be back on top again!" Bonus Level has revealed the official trailer for an indie comedy film titled The Second Coming of John Cooper, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Kevin Kraft. This premiered a few years ago and is getting a full VOD release on platforms this June to watch at home. Right from your own couch, too. Kevin Kraft's The Second Coming of John Cooper is a mockumentary about a (fake) Hollywood actor. The story follows washed-up celebrity John Cooper, who partied away his career and vanished from the public eye. When a documentary crew discovers him couch-surfing at fan's home, documenting his delusional quest to revive his career after squandering fame through partying and disappearing from spotlight. Starring Lane Compton as John Cooper, with Trevor Goober, Ilana Kohanchi, and Dustin Ybarra. Blurring the line between a real doc and a mock doc featuring real comedians like Rob Corddry, Brian Posehn, Doug Benson, and TikTok sensation Mads Lewis. This doesn't look like the funniest comedy, but it does looks extra wacky & amusing enough to enjoy. Check it out below.
