Guide[edit]
This template should be used for all files in the "File:" namespace. It presents some information about the file, and automatically both categorizes and licenses the image.
Important: Data is stored now in Module:File/data!
Parameters[edit]

A file description should be short and concise, requiring no more than one sentence to explain. For example, a piece of artwork of a cyberdog from Fallout 2 could simply be described as "Artwork of a Cyberdog from Fallout 2", preferably with links to the articles it is used in. If there are other versions of the file, or extra information to help describe the file, it should go here. | |
| game / film / comic / book | Yes (Unless using Typeself) | Game or other media source | Put the name of the game/film/comic/book here, any game title as seen listed in Template:Abb. Use only one of them. It will automatically be linked to. For any files applying to multiple games, put only the first appearance for the file's contents here—extra categories will need to be manually added. Use Nogame for "Not game-specific", which will skip the game in the autocategorizing if using |Typegame . If "modimage" is used in typegame/typeself, it will visually change to "Mod".

| source | Yes!! | File source | This is a very important parameter. If you have a file that wasn't directly taken by yourself, the direct source (I.E. website) needs to be linked here. If you captured the file yourself, use |source=self. For images captured by other people, use |source=user and fill the next parameter below. If left blank, the file will be added to a maintenance category indicating the file has no source—one should be found quickly.
