A note given every 24 hours to the Wayfarer by Sabertooth Syd during the quest Memories of Syd when they visit the Pub.

New Chapter
Wen I was a lad me mum read me a book called The Dove's Dilemma. It was about this bird wat tried to help out its animal frends, but fings kept going in ways it did not be expecting.
I used to fink I was that bird, trying to change the world around me, and nuffin went how I wanted. I just wanted fings to go my way. But now I see I was not the bird. I was the mouse, who kept get stuk in the same maze, or the hippo wat cud not see its own bum. Sumtiems I was even the cat, who hurt the bird whenever it try to help.
Me mum was a Dove. She tried to help me, to raise me right. Me dad used to beat her, and I did nuffin about it. He was a cat, me dad, and he tried to make me into a cat liek him. And I was, for a long time.
But reesently another Dove came into me life. They helped me learn how to read, and even to rite. They gave me summit I hav not had before - a voice. They is a tru frend.
And now wat I hav a voice I don't want to be a cat no more. I want to be a Dove too. I want to help peeple, even if it hurts trying.
It is tiem for old Syd to start a new chapter in life. Turn a new leef over. Maybe it not too late for me to do me sum good in the world.
