Byers performed work on several Protectrons at the largest truck stop in Appalachia, along with coworkers Conway and McLean. On October 10, 2077, Byers reported that one of the robots became unresponsive and needed to be rebooted while another scraped the side of a car and broke the side-view mirror off. Subsequent diagnostics revealed nothing out of the ordinary, and Byers recommended sending the units to RobCo Industries for better evaluation.[1]
