A fantastic album; and a fantastic pressing. The spoken word segments work strangely well - and Billie is on great form here, delivering incredible performances - she sounds playful and flirty on some numbers; and of course hauntingly beautiful on all numbers, even on the sadder numbers (of which there are lots) she sounds in control. A great band too - and for a mono early 60’s pressing - the sound is fantastic. The bassist in particular (Carson Smith) & guitarist (Kenny Burnell) are phenomenal.

Superb short-lived His Master's Voice Verve series in purple with gold lettering. The tax code embossed on one label is OT. Comes with a lovely HMV lined die-cut inner sleeve advertising other HMV product in colour. There is no track banding so it is impossible to select any particular track except track 1 each side !
