    easily the best way to listen to the beatles. i got mine from imusic, seems to be the only way to get a new copy and avoid the extreme used prices and possible fakes. sucks that these mixes aren't more readily available.

      These vinyl issues are the exact reason the record industry went to the superior CD format in the '80s because of all the vinyl returns at retail, a good percentage because of the variables in turntables and consumers not knowing how to treat stylii (aka "needles") or adjust tracking force.. For the most part CDs and compact disc players solved these issues. Just look at the LP complaints vs the CD comments everywhere from here to Amazon and beyond about skips, noise, warps,pops, ticks. Now a generation later, history repeats. Apparently amnesia is rampant in certain circles.

      I bought a sealed CD version of the Mono Box Set for $99 at Best Buy when it first came out. No drama, no trips, no worries..

        You can find better digital sources for a lot of the tracks on here. The 1992 box sets for the singles collection and EP collection have much better sound to them. Especially that EP collection, which is a night and day difference between the mono box set. The singles collection were remastered using their dedicated masters and they sound super punchy and up front (except their first few singles which sound a little dull).

        As for the stereo mixes on this mono box set, there are rare Canadian CDs for Help! and Rubber Soul that were pressed in the 1990s that also have a superior sound. These used uncompressed and untweaked mastering, which give them a more clearer and dynamic sound. And yes, I have tested them.

        Having said this, this mono box set is still amazing and great value!

Just do a browser search for "ebay community the beatles in mono" and you can read in his posts which reveal 1. The item WAS bought on eBay 2. He DID pay £100 3. The seller WAS based in China, all of which he had denied & then redacted once he was caught out, and became abusive calling me a "blabbermouth" and to get MY facts right! 🙄

                      Thank you aminovel i always thought it should be on the outside but how wrong can i be.
                      I've some more info on this box set.The actual weight of an original set should be around 840 grams but mine is 745 grams so there's a weight difference as well as everything else.
