Jean-Michel Jarre – Equinoxe Infinity

You hope that Jarre will pull something special out of his sleeve at the end of the album, but it remains nothing more than the end of a very mediocre album with a few fillers that make my toes curl and ooze kitsch.

An excellent vinyl and a very good pressing, as mentioned in previous reviews.
Having tested it on a large, well-tuned sound system, the sonic warmth and envelope are incredible.

Absolutely flawless pressing. Deep bass and the highs are PERFECT. Reviewed at a decent volume too. And a great effort in 2018 by JMJ.
I simply don't understand these complaints about "boomy and loud". What are you guys listening on..Amstrad £60 turntables? And...get your ears Microsuctioned..like getting new ears!
As good a package as you will find..a case of as i call it..." The information is in the grooves..just get it out".

Indeed a very good pressing and the sound is amazing. Sounds so much better than the CD. Another masterpiece from Mr Jarre.

What an insult to the original Equinoxe. A lot of pling and plong, but melodies are absent. No, thanks.

Equinoxe Infinity as well as Oxygene 3 are mixed too loud. I loathe this loudness-mixing style that infests modern music. Everything is in-your-face, cold and digital. A wall of sound (noise). There is no warmth to it. It's too inhumane, like our times. Another thing is the lack of proper compositions on these albums. It seems to be all about the sounds? Old Jarre was about compositions and new sound (the analog synth). This is just noise, tricks and cheap improvised melodies. Jarre thinks it's important to be up-to-day and follow the times? Nope. You shouldn't just copy what all the other electronica musicians are doing (professional and amateur) but to actually invent your own sound. Your own world of music. That's the way you can make a difference. If only there were compositions I could ignore the sound. But the compositions are just wish-wash. This Infinity album is still better than the mechanic Oxygene 3. There are some ideas and the music is pretty good. But then they put all that through a dozen compressors and effects, and it starts sounding like a string of cow's farts. Pretty harsh words but there you have it :) 4/5

This is a very good pressing even though dynamics are not that great as stated by other parties here and is therefore a bit "loud". Still it is a very well recorded and engineered album and it sounds great with nice bass and tremble and a big upgrade to the CD version that is unlistenable. I like this album a lot ( I did not care about his Electronica 1 and 2 albums at all, not my stuff, I guess ) and fans of Jarre will most certainly appreciate this album as it does contain elements one would find on his first albums. [ Playing this using an Ortofon 2M Black cartridge ]

I just got my copy and I agree with the other positive comments that this is a great pressing. Mine is very clean with no pops or crackle. Great fidelity with excellent dynamics.

Great pressing - sounds amazing, and is completely free from pops, clicks, crackling etc.

Nothing special, that´s sad considering the huge masterpiece that the original Oxygene was.
