American lyricist (born April 21, 1910 in Watertown, New York; died June 18, 1983 in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 73).
Mainly active during the 1940s and 1950s.
He charted as a songwriter eleven times and had four top 10 songs between 1936 and 1959 including a #1 song with "The Big Apple" by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra in 1937 (co-written by Robert D. Emmerich).
