Our Code of Conduct
Welcome! We want all our staff and visitors to feel safe and respected. We therefore ask everyone to follow this Code of Conduct. If you witness behaviour that breaches this Code, please speak to a member of staff immediately.
Respect for People
- Be courteous and considerate at all times.
- Harassment, stalking, intimidation or unwanted attention towards staff, volunteers, or other visitors will not be tolerated.
- We do not permit bullying, hate speech, or discriminatory behaviour.
- Please do not take photos or videos of others without their permission.
Respect for the Museum’s Spaces & Artefacts
- Anything switched on can be played with but do not touch exhibits under glass!
- Please follow all signage and staff instructions.
- No food or drink in the main galleries, please keep it to the foyer area.
Safety & Wellbeing
- Please keep walkways, exits and fire doors clear.
- Report any hazards (e.g. tripping risks, spills) to a member of staff.
- Children should be supervised at all times by a responsible adult.
Photography, Recording & Social Media
- Personal non-commercial photography is allowed provided no signs prohibit it.
- Please be mindful of people’s privacy when posting on social media.
Inclusion & Accessibility
- Our museum is open to everyone, regardless of ability, background or identity.
- If you have accessibility needs, please ask staff - we will do our best to help.
- Please be understanding towards people with needs different to your own.
Conduct & Consequences
- If asked by staff to stop any behaviour that violates this Code, please comply.
- In serious or repeated cases, visitors may be asked to leave and may be banned from returning
