The first three covers of issue v1#1 have the same artwork by Jon Bogdanove and John Romita. The fourth cover has different artwork by José Delbo, with a "Squirt" logo in the upper left-hand corner.
Indicia title is "Adventures in Reading Starring the Amazing Spider-Man". Cover title is "The Amazing Spider-Man Adventures in Reading".

The Houston Chronicle variant depicts Spider-Man swinging using two hands, "Zap!" in large letters, and "Houston Chronicle/King Features/Hearst Corporation" (same artwork as the back cover of the first printing).
