The Infantino plot credit is dubious. This origin is based strongly on the corresponding story in Superman (DC, 1939 series) #53 (1948).
In color; the story was originally printed in black and white, with shading. The art on all pages was extended on the edges (not by the original artists) to widen them for reprinting in Limited Collectors' Edition (DC, 1972 series) #C-31 (1974); that's why many captions are not left-aligned.
