Mescal Ike was a humor western comic strip that was syndicated by the Bell Syndicate (later known as Bell-McClure Syndicate) from December 6, 1926, to August 24, 1940 and it was created by S. L. Huntley with Art Huhta.
Per the Official Gazette of the United States Patent Office, Volume 416, March 1932 (March 8, 1932, page 307), the comic strip received a trademark, serial number 322,895, filed by Sturtevant Leston Huntley (S. L. Huntley). "For cartoon and comic strip." And "Claims use since Dec. 6, 1926."
