Howdy Doody (English)

Notes:

Buffalo Bob Smith created Howdy Doody as a voice only character when he was a radio announcer on WNBC. Frank Paris of NBC's television program Puppet Playhouse created the first Howdy Doody puppet in late 1947. The character was first published in a comic book in 1950. Both Bob Smith and Howdy Doody were nominally cowboy characters, though much of the stories also involved a circus. The feature includes about two dozen recurring characters, based in Doodyville.
