Biography:

Byrne is a British-born writer and artist, who grew up in Canada and has lived in the United States for most of his life. He has been most active in the superhero genre. Since the mid-1970s, Byrne has worked on many major features; with noted work on Marvel's The X-Men (Marvel, 1963 series) and Fantastic Four (Marvel, 1961 series). Byrne also facilitated the 1986 relaunch of DC's Superman (English) franchise with the limited series The Man of Steel (DC, 1986 series), the first issue of which featured the comics' first variant cover. During the 1990s he produced a number of creator-owned works, including Next Men (English) and Danger Unlimited (English).
