Detective Comics (DC, 1937 series) #359
(January 1967).
She was paralyzed by the Joker in
Batman: The Killing Joke (DC, 1988 series) #[nn]
([July] 1988).
Barbara first appeared as Oracle in
Suicide Squad (DC, 1987 series) #23
(January 1989); her identity was revealed in
issue #38
(February 1990).
In New 52 continuity, Barbara regained the use of her legs and became Batgirl once again, as shown in
Batgirl (DC, 2011 series) #1
(November 2011).
