The City of Fort Pierce is excited to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the prestigious Gold Hammer Awards. Mayor Linda Hudson invites residents and business owners to participate by recognizing those in the community who have made significant improvements to their properties through new construction or rehabilitation efforts.

The Gold Hammer Awards celebrate the dedication and commitment of individuals who have enhanced the beauty and value of their homes or businesses, contributing to the overall vibrancy of the Fort Pierce community.

Winners of the Gold Hammer Awards will be announced during the upcoming Coffee with the Mayor event, scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at the Fort Pierce Yacht Club located at 700 N. Indian River Dr., Fort Pierce, FL 34950.

Nominations are open until Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Submissions can be made easily through the online nomination form at Gold Hammer Award Application.

The City of Fort Pierce Grants Administration Division announces that applications for the Home Purchase Assistance Program and the Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program will open on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Applications will be accepted until all available funding has been expended.

For Fiscal Year 2026–2027, the City has allocated $322,514 in State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funding to assist income-eligible residents with purchasing a home or rehabilitating owner-occupied homes located within the Fort Pierce city limits.

Applications will be processed on a first-submitted, first-qualified, first-served basis, subject to funding availability. Program guidelines, eligibility requirements, and a list of required application documents are available on the City's Grants Administration webpage at https://shorturl.at/ETF3Q. 

Mandatory Orientation Requirement

All applicants are required to attend one mandatory orientation session before submitting an application.
