About Harley Whisenhunt

Harley Whisenhunt is CBR’s Anime Authority Editor, specializing in reviews and interviews for anime and manga. Harley graduated from Henderson State University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Spanish. Harley’s professional and educational background in media and hospitality soon drew her to pursue a role at CBR, and she’s been honing her expertise as an anime and manga journalist and critic ever since.

Favorite Media

Pokémon and Dragon Ball Z were the first anime to capture Harley’s interest when she was young, but it wasn’t until watching Naruto later in life that she fell in love with anime. Harley enjoys keeping up with new releases, but classics like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Sailor Moon hold a special place in her heart. Some of Harley’s favorite new anime releases are Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and To Be Hero X, and she closely follows new manga releases for Chainsaw Man, Dandadan, and One Piece.

Industry Focus

Harley started writing for CBR’s Anime vertical in 2023, focusing on lists, features, and resources for various franchises. Some of Harley’s favorite franchises to write about include One Piece, Naruto, Black Clover, and Dandadan. After joining CBR’s editorial staff in 2024, Harley began specializing in reviews and interviews as the Anime Authority Editor. Since assuming the Anime Authority Editor role, Harley has conducted and coordinated interviews at Anime Expo 2025, San Diego Comic-Con 2025, and Anime NYC 2025.

Author Details

At Henderson State University, Harley led the college’s student media organizations and traveled abroad to Costa Rica to further her Spanish studies for one month in 2019. Harley leverages the sum of her professional experience and educational expertise in TV, radio, newspaper publishing and digital marketing in her current role as CBR’s Anime Authority Editor. Harley’s passion for learning new languages has only grown stronger since diving headfirst into studying Japanese.
