This song was released in May 2006 in the United states, with the intended audience being people ranging in age from middle school age to college age. He chose this range in age to connect to a broad amount of people, with the general assumption that they would be familiar with what love is, or have experienced it themselves.

This song has a pop theme to it, while portraying the time the two had together.

This feeling can have a huge affect on an individual and can leave you wanting to always feel Loved, when the honeymoon is over, that is when everything starts to fall, like when a rollercoaster goes down the sharp downward fall. Is true love an unattainable ideal? Do we all have a soul mate? Is love just an exchange of lies for the purpose of flattery? These questions, and countless others, regarding love have been pondered by philosophers and pop music stars alike for hundreds of years. William Shakespeare examines these questions from two vantage points in “Sonnet 116” and “Sonnet 138.” Firstly, in “Sonnet 116”, Shakespeare analyzes love in a rhetorical manner, meaning that he is not discussing a specific relationship of his, but theorizing on the concept of love as a whole, in abstract terms. Conversely, in “Sonnet 138”, Shakespeare analyzes love in a specific manner. He looks inward to inspect a relationship between him and a woman, also known as The Dark Lady, and paints a much different picture of love than in “Sonnet 116”, in specific terms. In William Shakespeare’s “Sonnet 116” and “Sonnet 138”, Shakespeare analyzes love in abstract and specific terms; concluding that abstract love relies on affection, does not change or age, and is built upon a solid foundation of truth, while specific love, on the other hand, relies on lust, actively ignores change and aging, and revolves around deception. These two sonnets paint entirely adverse portraits of love in order to emphasize the dichotomy between the poet’s expectations of love, and the reality which does not live up to the poet’s expectations.

This song brings me back to my first true love, and many told me it was puppy love but I knew and felt differently. It was in 2010 when I met the person I wanted to get to know and spend endless time on him. My first love was Gareth Rowlands, and I still believe to this day that he was because he made me feel different than just a “dating” relationship. After meeting him, I was head over heels for him and I constantly wanted to be in his presence. But although I liked him he never showed the same emotions toward me unless we were alone and had the chance to actually conversate. When we were alone we would talk for hours on end and learn more and more about each other. Knowing that we were getting closer I wanted to take a shot at dating him but he didn’t think he was the right guy for me. So I decided to wait about a year before asking again and he said he wasn’t ready to date yet, and by this time I was in eighth grade. So waiting for him in other words was like the song, “If love is on the way, tell me where to wait, and I'll stay, as long as it takes.”. I was willing to wait for a very long time no matter how long. I wanted to be with him because after three years passed that I knew him, I saw a future with him. This guy was just the kind of boyfriend that any girl would wished to have, yet that is not what the girl in this story wants. This song goes out to all the girls who feel confuse about the word love; they just not know what they want in a guy. As a result, they run away from the good guy and always for the bad guy.

Now, don't worry I’m not some crazed teenage girl trying to find this perfect love for I know it will come in time, but I’ve learned that you can love someone without it needing to be romantic. When I care about someone I find little things that they do that makes them unique. This song is my favorite song and I’m sure it will stick with me possibly forever. It’s so beautiful that I won’t get tired of hearing it.

Love is difficult to define, difficult to measure, and difficult to understand. Love is what great writers write about, great singers sing about, and great philosophers ponder. Love is a powerful emotion, for which there is no wrong definition, for it suits each and every person differently. Whether love is between family, friends, or lovers, it is an overwhelming emotion that can be experienced in many different ways.

I met her two years ago and we did not have much to say at that time. Little did I know that she would later steal my heart and become an intimate part of my life. As we grow up in life, we grow up with the understanding that we are loved or to give love. Sometimes that love turns into hate depending on the circumstances which it involves. As Christians, we are taught to show and give love to all and not to hate anyone. God directs us to teach others to do the same.
