Arch Enemy Arts presents OTHER, the latest collection by artist Ego Shoreclay, known simply by his first name, Ego. Six new paintings with the artist’s signature hypnotic, post-apocalyptic mood and impeccable rendering. Each piece is an intimate portrait of isolated, haunting characters, who appear poised, at any moment, to reach out from beyond the picture plane. 

 

“OTHER is a collection of paintings showing otherworldly figures with no desire to ‘mask’ what they are. A snapshot of ethereal outsiders beyond the gaze and judgements of the corporeal realm. The series is based on the overarching themes of most of my work, feeling ‘other,’ like an outsider, isolated, even when surrounded by similar creatures.” - Ego

 

Ego (b. 1972) is based in Seattle, Washington. Inspired by horror and sci-fi movies, comic books, music, skateboarding culture, cartoons, and esoteric symbols, prior to his studio practice, Ego worked as a prolific tattoo artist for 25 years. Showing with the gallery since 2024, OTHER is Ego’s second solo collection for Arch Enemy Arts.

OTHER will be on view from July 25th - August 16th, 2026
