WELTKRIEG, 1914 has specifically been designed for solo play, with the game system emphasizing playability and historicity. Can you win a victory and end the war before the leaves fall? Game components are found within the pages of the book. The game may be seen as a "War College Exercise", in which you are trying to determine the best way to achieve your goals, by examining verious options. In this case, major questions to be addressed include: is is best to focus on Russia or France first? If France, is it wise to invade Belgium or not? Once major issues like this are addressed, you must assign your various corps to various fronts. In the original campaign, the strong right wing against France of the Schlieffen Plan was modified by Moltke, and Germany found itself in a two-front war.
