My dog absolutely despises having his nails done. He is very passionate in his hatred of all things nail care. He actually lets me cut his nails with these clippers.

My dog also has very thick, hard nails. These clippers cut right through his thick nails with very clean cuts every time. His nails have never been so smooth immediately after a cut as they are with these clippers.

The quick guard is great as well. It makes it teally easy not to hit the quick even when you can’t see it through dark black nails. I think this is a big part of why my dog allowed me to cut his nails without a fight. He panics if he thinks there’s even the remotest of chances that his quicks will be hit (even though it’s never happened) and he quickly realized that his nails hit the guard on these, limiting how much of the nail can be cut off.

And, finally, even with my very limited grip strength, these clippers are easy to use. The handles are long and thick making them easy to grip and giving quite a bit of leverage.

These clippers feel strong and well made, so I expect them to last for years, but when the time does come to replace them, I will be buying these same nail clippers again.

Finding a good pair of nail clippers is a harder task than I thought it'd be. I read many reviews, called around to local shops, and then found these.

These clippers work really well on our Boston Terrier & two cats. They're very sturdy/well-constructed, they don't wobble, and they're quiet. They're weighted-well; they kind of have the feeling of a good pair of gardening tools or something that has a certain amount of heft to them that just makes them feel substantial enough to do the job, but not too heavy.

I picked up a pair of guillotine-style clippers years ago and these new ones from GoPets are much better. The guillotine ones made quite a loud "ka-chunk" sound every time I trimmed my dog's nails, and due to the style, trimming her nails took longer. With these, I can clearly see where I'm about to clip and my view isn't obstructed. The GoPets clippers are sharp and the built-in file is a nice added bonus. I found the file to be pretty small, and I use a separate, bigger, permanent file, but the built-in one was handy with the cats.

Taking into account everything I've said, it all adds up to a much better experience. It takes far less time to trim my dog's nails now. It used to take 45 minutes (she flinches when I'm about to clip a nail), now it takes 10, maybe 15.

As for the cats, we adopted a kitten a few months back (he's now 5 months old), and have a 7-year old cat, too. The kitten isn't declawed and the older one tends to scratch his head. I don't want the dog to catch a nail from the kitten, who just wants to play, we aren't getting the kitten declawed, and it'd be great if the older cat wouldn't scratch his head so bad. So given all these things, I tried clipping their nails, too, and found it to be a very easy thing to do. Trimming their nails with these clippers has turned out to be an amazingly cheaper and more pleasant alternative to getting them declawed. The kitten tends to be kind of a drama queen, but because the clippers are so easy to use, it's all over in a few minutes. The big guy is pretty laid back and just went with it. I'm sure, had I tried clipping their nails with the older, guillotine ones, it wouldn't have been such an easy thing to do.

Bottom line: They're worth every penny. They're the best clippers I've found & I'd buy them again.

These nail clippers are very well constructed and heavy duty. They are very versatile to use on either large breed or smaller breed, as I have a Golden Retriever all the way to Chihuahuas. The clippers were very sharp and cut very precisely without any ripped or torn edges. It comes with a very nice finishing file in which I enjoyed having for a few nails. It has a safety guard on the outside of the clipping edge that can either be swung to be in place to be used by you or swung away, for someone that is more exsperienced and that doesn't need it, or if your dogs nails are a bit too long. I appreciated how nice the rubber gripping felt in my hands as I worked with the clippers as it helped me get that perfect cut each time. My Chihuahua is not always the calmest but with these clippers he did amazing, so they obviously did not bother him.

I only wish i found these 10 years ago! I adopted my dog at 3 months and he came to me with large bandages on all four paws/legs. He was found by the local sheriff bleeding out because some kids pulled out all his nails with pliers and left him to die. But thanks to the quick action and love of the sheriff, the local hospital and generosity of the 24 hour vet hospital my dog survived. He has a lot of anxiety about having his nails clipped even 10 years later. I won't take him anywhere to have them cut because it increases his anxiety even more. I've tried so many different clippers with no success. His nails never grew back normally.

And it doesn't help that he's 149lbs so his nails are more like falcon talons! These clippers have such a strong grip and smooth glide that he didn't even have the chance to panicky yank his paw away! I have never cut all four paws so quickly, i was shocked...but he was a little shocked looking too! Not one nail split. I can't believe how much i was able to cut off with only a little protest! I can't say the word "clippers" or even get them out. So he did run in the bedroom and try to hide under his blanket, but maybe now since this was not the usual re-traumatizing experience he will let me clip them more often. Thank you for finally making great clippers available for consumers at a great price!

Wow - these are the best... sharp, lightweight, easy to use, impossible to mess up. We adopted a "used" dog who spent her first four years in shelters, foster homes, and various rescue situations. I had NO idea how she would react to toenail cutting, but I was hoping for the best and knew I had better start with some sharp, heavy-duty nail clippers. Did I mention our "new-to-us" dog is 70+ pounds of pure muscle? She also has all black toenails.

She and I were both nervous about the nail cutting, but the clippers were amazing. The guard makes it impossible to cut too much (thank heavens), and the blades are sharp enough that even her thick hard toenails just sliced through easily. There was no horrendous high-pitched clicking like you get with people nail-clippers, either. (That's enough to make me envious...)

I have to do her toenails again this week, and neither of us has to worry about it one bit. This is a tool worth every penny - no down sides at all.

I was so excited to receive these new nail clippers for my small dogs. When I received my delivery, I immediately opened the box and was ready to trim their nails.

When searching for a new pair of clippers, I opted to purchase a more expensive brand. I had hope that a quality brand nail clipper would be less stressful on the dogs. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I only trimmed one nail, then stopped. The noise sounded like a like a nutcracker crushing the nail. It was not only alarming for me, but also for my dog.

Returning the product and back to searching for a quality product that is less stressful on both human and dog.

Pet Nail Clippers for Dogs & Cats by GoPets are great! They are sturdy, and easy to hold. This is important, becuse clippers that are uncomfortable in the hand, or slippery and very difficult to use. These have nice sized handles for a good fit, yet are not too bulky for small hands like mine.

These are also a great cutting tool. Who wants to use clippers that leave a broken or uneven end to the nail. This is very uncomfortable for the dig. These make a nice, sharp, even cut. They work great even on my Newfie!. I had given away all o f my grooming tools when I lost my dog last year. Then, despite swearing that I wouldn't do it, I adopted another dog. This gorgeous Newfie. All of my pet grooming products will be coming from GoPEts as they are moderately priced and work beautifully

The nail clipper was purchased to be used on a large dog, great dane. It does work and I really like that it has a.Back flap so you don’t cut the nail excessively. I thought the clippers would sharper to cut the nail easier, But they are not.

Works great and stays relatively sharp. We have a large dog with relatively hard nails and it cuts through them well. Unfortunately cutting nails is a delicate art and we cut the quick a couple times so our dog hates having nails cut now. The little filer is great too to smooth the sharp edges after the cut.

These clippers are ideal. I wasn't confident in clipping my dog's claws, but the sharpness of these, and the guard which stops you cutting off too much, are excellent, and the job was completed quickly and easily. My dog is not too fond of the process, but he wasn't really aware of the process at all. The cost of the clippers was not much more than having them cut by a groomer or nurse. I'm now confident I can do this regularly, and the written and e mail instructions helped a lot.

Expensive, but I would have paid double the price... an excellent item. xxx

Best claw clippers I have ever used

I have Great Danes French bull dog and chihuahuas .all different size claws

I was able to cut all there claws quickly and with out fuss with the one set of clippers
