    I received these books very carefully wrapped in protective paper showing the sender was very conscientious in presenting his products in the best light. This is in itself shows a rare person of integrity. These are very old books but well taken care of and sold as such. I am very proud to own these valuable historical works.

    Necessary reading for any Lincoln buff

    Always wanted to own this and now I do. My copy was printed in 1933 so the pages are pretty fragile but if I'm gentle with it. It'll be fine. I love all the anecdotes. Four volumes covering four years offer so much more detail than a single volume biography. It's doesn't bother me at all that Sandburg's Lincoln isn't considered as satisfying modern standards for historical works. I can make up my own mind about the authenticity of a good story. For the most part Lincoln's lost to legend anyway. Just be glad we had him when we did.
