Kormend inks Sagaba Konate

Sagaba Konate

Egis Kormend, a division team, has signed Sagaba Konate, a 26-year-old Mali ex-international center. Konate was previously supposed to play for Samsunspor in the Turkish BSL league. In the 5 games he played this season, he averaged 9.4ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.2apg, and 1.0spg. Last season, he played for ratiopharm Ulm in the German league, where he played 4 games and recorded 6.8ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.0spg, and 1.0bpg. Konate's team won the German Bundesliga title.
He was a member of the Mali international program for several years. He was selected for the Mali Senior National Team from 2020 to 2022 and had previously played for the Under 18 National Team in 2014.
He's a highly experienced player, having played professionally in Germany, Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki), Italy (Trieste), Spain (Zaragoza), and the NBA G League (Raptors 905 Mississauga).
He was voted to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team in 2018 during his college years.

He graduated from WVU in 2019 and it's his 5th season as a pro player.
