Listclass error

edit

Not sure how to handle this. If 'listclass' is included in the template, even though empty, the child protolanguages will be bulleted. If it's not included, they won't be. An empty param shouldn't affect the display, but I don't know enough about template syntax to fix it. I would think we'd want bullets as the default, which it seems they are. — kwami (talk) 23:59, 5 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Parameter for Descendent family field

edit

'members' is a very confusing name for the "Descendent family" field. I suggest |descendent_family=. Kanguole 12:09, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

It seems the "Descendent" part of the displayed label is causing confusion[1]. How about a label of "Reconstructed family" or "Reconstruction of"? Kanguole 16:04, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
"Reconstruction of" sounds ok, and indeed is less confusing. –Austronesier (talk) 16:31, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
If a short parameter name is desirable, perhaps 'target' would work. Kanguole 09:10, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

'Target' seems okay. AWB didn't work for me last time I tried, but I'll switch them over if I can get it to work now, and we can remove 'members' from the code. — kwami (talk) 04:19, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Writing system?

edit

Since this infobox is for reconstructed languages, I'm not sure that |script= make sense here. Kanguole 17:57, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request to make this template a subtemplate of Template:Infobox language

edit

I propose that someone please make this template a subtemplate of {{Infobox language}} so as to eliminate code duplication between the two. PK2 (talk; contributions) 03:45, 25 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

If by sub-templpate you mean "one uses the other", you should use WP:TFD for that. Izno (talk) 21:50, 26 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
