I am aware that everything I am attracted to, spiritual paths, clothing, etc. originates with a community of color. In fact, standard "Wicca" isn't colorful enough. I look into things more tribal, more colorful. Shamanism has my attention right now.
I am not a voracious reader. I am too busy ingesting, realigning, redefining myself.
I have a tighter sense of 'community' via books than actual peers out there, however. Well, and our family. The kids. Nearly grown...
Show up to a CLASS on Shamanism, and everyone there is white, middle-aged, female... Does it occur to any of them this is odd? We are expressing a kind of 'white flight' away from ourselves?
IN any case, I am currently working on a year-long trek, to 'build my own Inner Totem".
